25 years ago Nillumbik was ahead of many other councils. A public event of commitment to Reconciliation was organised by the Mayor in Wingrove Park. This was the beginning of Nillumbik Reconciliation Group. A Wurundjeri Elder on the day remarked that people there were witnessing history.
